202406.24 The feelings of acceptance and rejection affect the neural processes of self-evaluation (Poster Presentation) Posted in RESEARCH

Self-evaluation is believed to be influenced by feelings of acceptance and rejection. Previous research has shown that individuals may change their self-evaluation positively or negatively in response to social acceptance or rejection feedback. However, it's unclear how the neural processing of self-evaluation is associated with the sense of acceptance and rejection. In our study, we found different cognitive processing (i.e., mentalizing, emotion regulation, and inhibition) during self-evaluation in various domains are linked to the sense of acceptance and the sense of rejection, respectively. These findings were presented at the Organization for Human Brain Mapping 2024 (Ding).
