202303.24 Power to live necessary for self-reconstruction of residence (Paper publication) Posted in RESEARCH

Reconstruction of residences is one of the most important issues in the recovery from a large-scale disaster. Who are the people who rebuild their houses by themselves? We analyzed the results of a joint survey with Kahoku Shimpo targeting the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and found that those who rebuilt their houses by themselves scored higher in stubbornness, problem solving, and active well-being out of the 8 factors of the Power to Live. The resulting paper, "Personality Traits and Types of Housing Recovery after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami," has been published in the journal Sustanability. (Sugiura)
