In social life, people frequently encounter rejection from others, and their coping strategies play a crucial role in social adaptation. This study revealed that individuals who experienced stronger feelings of rejection exhibited significantly increased activation in the parietal operculum. These findings suggest that the process of social pain may be involved when individuals present themselves to others again after experiencing rejection.
These findings were presented at the 2024 winter workshop of the Mechanism of Brain and Mind. (Ding)
