Communication with others is essential for human survival and growth. Dr. Ayahito Ito from the Graduate School of Education is tackling this challenge using a method that combines brain imaging with a real-world paradigm for conducting face-to-face conversations. His research, which not only deepens the understanding of communication using neuroscience data but also applies these insights to social support initiatives like fostering communication (Community Shed Initiative in Japan), has been highly evaluated. As a result, he has been awarded The Young Scientists' Award from the MEXT. Additionally, in recognition of this award, he has been selected as a Distinguished Researcher at Tohoku University.
