Processing of Japanese non-canonical word order(object-subject-verb) sentences requires more syntactic computation than its canonical counterparts (S-O-V). I demonstrated that this syntactic processing is affected by the flow of information in the discourse through fMRI experiments with Prof. Koizumi's group at the Faculty of Arts and Letters. Research results were presented at the virtual conference of the Society for the Neurobiology of Language. (Jeong)
