The supramarginal gyrus (lower anterior part of the parietal lobe) of the right hemisphere is a brain region related to the recognition of one's own body and movement. Activity in this area seems, however, to be observed when stubborn people are thinking about their personality and when those who are not afraid of death are thinking about their death. I gave a talk about this mysterious relationship between body and mind at the symposium “Social Neuroscience Addressing Real Social Issues” (online). (Sugiura)
