Language and communication

Humans create a society through communication, and language is its powerful tool to convey feelings and move people. Elucidation of the neural bases of these functions and their acquisition is expected to contribute to understanding humanity and to educational applications.

In the International Symposium on Diverse Approaches to Second Language Acquisition: Learner Corpora, Evaluation and Brain Sciences 2019 hold at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, I gave an oral presentation about the neural correlates of processing Japanese honorific expressions by Chinese learners of Japanese. During the conference, I’ve received lots of thoughtful comments from other researchers. Also, throughout attending other presentations and lectures, I was able to learn and follow up on the new trending of second language-related studies (CUI).
