The effect of emotional cues on the learning of L2 emotional vocabulary: an fMRI study (Poster Presentation)
Posted in RESEARCH
Understanding emotion in second language (L2) communication is essential but challenging for L2 learners due to the lack of exposure to natural social interaction.Facial expressions and tones are natural and common cues of an emotional state in social interaction, yet little is known about whether and how these emotional cues influence the learning of L2 emotional vocabulary. Therefore, this research plans to use fMRI to explore this question. I presented this experiment at the Conference of the Society for the Neurobiology of Language 2023. The venue was at Palais du Pharo, Marseille, France. It's near the old port, surrounded by many famous tourist attractions. I got many useful feedback from other researchers, and enjoyed the beautiful view of Marseille as well.
