Coping Strategies after the 2025 Myanmar Earthquake
Posted in RESEARCH
On March 28, 2025, a powerful M7.7 earthquake struck central Myanmar, resulting in widespread loss of life and socioeconomic damage. Despite the scale of this disaster, there is still limited research focusing on the psychological coping mechanisms of affected populations in Myanmar.
In response, a collaborative team of Myanmar and Japanese researchers from IRIDeS launched a qualitative study to explore culturally grounded coping responses among survivors.
