202509.16 Prosody Meets Context: fMRI Evidence of Intention Comprehension in Second Language Learners (Poster Presentation at International Conference) Posted in RESEARCH

In this experiment on second language (L2) intention comprehension, we examined how L2 learners process communicative intentions when congruent or incongruent prosody was combined with predictable or unpredictable prior context. Our findings suggest that L2 learners rely on prosodic congruency to interpret intention, with incongruency activating social cognition and conflict resolution processes.
I presented this experiment in a poster at the International Conference on Cognitive Neuroscience in Porto, Portugal, on September 16 th , and received valuable feedback.
I also attended symposia on a variety of topics related to cognitive neuroscience and enjoyed walking around in Porto and viewing the scenery.
