201908.14 INFERENCE IN BRAIN, AND SIMULATION (POSTER PRESENTATION) Posted in RESEARCH

From July 26th to 28th, I participated in the MAPLL conference (Mental Architecture for Processing and Learning of Language) at Konan University, Kobe. In this conference, I presented how to simulate the process of inference in the brain, further applying it to complete topic classification in the mainstream news in Taiwan. This study proves that the mainstream news have their own political stance, even though they use the same word. Through this study, I expect the interdisciplinary views in linguistics, neuroscience, and computer science. The application to this society can be also expected. At the end, I discussed the question about “Why language is unique” with the keynote speaker, Colin Phillips (University of Maryland, College Park) (Hsieh).
