202507.04 Embodied Emotion and Language: the Neural Substrates of Visceral Expressions of Emotion (Oral Presentation/Award-winning) Posted in RESEARCH

This fMRI study investigated how the neural processing of visceral expressions of emotion (e.g., 'heart fell apart') differs from that of general emotion labels non-specific to the body, and aims to contribute evidence for a more concrete picture of how language and bodily sensations work together to give rise to emotional experience. This study was presented at the 2025 Korean Psycholinguistics Society Annual Conference (Seoul, Korea) and won the Best Presentation Award. (Sunny)
