ASMR is a concept and term that has been discussed by some members of the public mainly on the Internet and is not yet academically defined. Wikipedia in English describes it as a "sensory response" such as "goose bumps" and "a (somewhat sexual) pleasant sensation that runs from the top of the head down the spine" (A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory- tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson. A online workshop on brain mechanisms that produce ASMR (reactions) will be held on July 2.
