Thinking about Self-Transformation in an AI Society in Three Layers (Workshop Presentation)

How will the "self" be transformed in a society where new technologies such as generative AI, virtual technology, and robotics are prevalent? Functional MRI studies of brain responses involved in self-recognition show that the brain regions involved at the three levels of body, interpersonal relationships, and social values/roles are very different. However, if we consider them all as devices of forward model predictive control, we may get hints for self-transformation that we have not yet seen. I gave a lecture titled "Brain Imaging of Self-Cognition" at the mini-symposium of the "Self" Research Group for the general public during the 2024 Science and Technology Week.
