202403.02 Toward more efficient research ethics review (Symposium presentation) Posted in EVENT

Blindly imposing medical ethics review on a wide variety of "human subjects research" may lead to a reduction in the time and effort spent on reviewing serious research projects due to the exhaustion of the administrative office and committee members resulting from the increased number of reviews, and may cause unjustifiable violations of research freedom with respect to low-risk research. As a concrete example of our response to this problem, we have introduced our "History of Establishment of IRB Specializing in Cognitive Neuroscience Research on Healthy Subjects" at the symposium "Can the Number of Ethics Reviews be Reduced?" at the "9th Meeting on Research Ethics.
