202602.21 Disaster Psychology and Brain Research Demonstrating the Mind-Body Connection (Special Lecture) Posted in EVENT

Psychosomatic medicine is a field of healthcare that treats humans holistically, encompassing not only the physical but also psychological and social aspects. Among the eight factors of “power ro live with disasters” identified through surveys of Great East Japan Earthquake (2011) survivors, three factors significantly influenced physical health and three influenced mental health. Two of these factors (Emotion regulation and Active well-being) were common to both and left a positive impression. I presented these findings demonstrating the mind-body connection and their neuroscientific implications in a lecture titled “Mind-Body Health from the Perspective of Disaster Psychology and Brain Research” at the 102nd Tohoku Regional Meeting of the Japanese Society of Psychosomatic Medicine held in Sendai.
