Explicit knowledge is a kind of knowledge we can verbalize, whereas implicit knowledge is used for spontaneous language use. This book is about how these two types of knowledge are involved in foreign language acquisition, integrating the fields of second language acquisition research, cognitive psychology, and brain science. I wrote Chapter 9 from a cognitive neuroscience perspective. (Jeong)
