202105.12 Are you better than your peers? (preprint release) Posted in RESEARCH

People tend to make positive self-evaluations that they think they are better than others. However, it is not known whether positive self-evaluation exists in different social values and motivations. In addition, its relationship with psycho-behavioral characteristics remains poorly understood. In this article, we found that Japanese young adults reported they were less immoral than the average others. People tend to reject negative information to protect themselves. Moreover, this kind of positive self-evaluation is not related to any personality traits.
This article is published in the preprint servers PsyArXiv 10.31234/osf.io/cw7bp.
