Exploring with fMRI: How Personality Traits and Optimism Alter Pain Responses (Oral Presentation · Awarded)
Posted in RESEARCH
To better capture individual differences in pain sensitivity, we combined psychological assessments with brain imaging and examined responses to experimentally induced pain. A unique feature of this study is the integration of behavioral experiments and fMRI analyses, allowing us to explore how psychological factors correspond to neural mechanisms.
On September 4, I participated in the “CogNAC × CBE Workshop (28th CBE Research Meeting),” co-hosted by Tohoku University’s Center for Applied Cognitive Neuroscience (CogNAC) and the IEICE Technical Committee on Communication Behavior Engineering (CBE). I delivered a presentation in the Young Researchers’ session, and I was honored to receive the Young Presentation Award for my talk.
I am truly grateful and deeply honored to have received such a valuable award. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to my supervisors and colleagues for their continuous guidance and encouragement. The workshop brought together a wide range of research in psychology, neuroscience, and sociology related to communication behavior, fostering lively discussions. I received many insightful comments from researchers in different fields, which will greatly contribute to improving and developing my research. I will treasure this experience and continue to devote myself earnestly to advancing my project.(Chang)
